Walk to a village
We can’t tell you how many times we get asked for a villa where you can walk to a village. And lately we’ve seen advertised on the internet many villas whose owners SAY you can walk to a village. Yes, if you’re prepared for a one-hour slog through the tobacco fields! Let’s be real: Playing peasant has a limit. Walking to a village means you’ve also got to walk back from the village. And if it’s begun to rain in the meantime? Or if we’re talking under the hot August sun with 99% humidity? If we’re talking a country house, you’re going to have to have a car – an air-conditioned car – no matter what. And the reality is that you’re going to use that car 99% of the time. Here, however, are a few villas that are within an easy 20-minute walk of a village with at least some amenities, in particular a café’! Oh, and by the way: We haven’t included properties that are actually IN a village (like Positano) or IN a city (like Rome).
