Vacanza Bella does one thing only:
short-term vacation rentals in Italy.
Welcome! and Welcome to Vacanza Bella’s new website! I am Daniel Morneau, and I founded Vacanza Bella in 1986. I think, in fact, that I’ve been in business longer than anyone else in North America who works exclusively with Italian vacation rentals.
I have two new colleagues working with me now: Federico Funari and Giordano Di Marca, two energetic young(ish) Romans who operate a successful bed and breakfast business in the Eternal City. They also own and manage several Rome vacation apartments. So they know exactly what people like you are looking for and what it takes to make a satisfied holiday renter.
Here’s what Vacanza Bella offers:
Together, we have personally visited – and revisited – each and every single Italian vacation rental we offer. We have known the owners and caretakers for many years. We’ve tested the water pressure and the mattresses ourselves.
And as you’ll soon discover in reading over our website, we believe in absolute candor. We see ourselves not just as agents. We see ourselves as your guides, especially in the internet age, where you have undoubtedly seen zillions of villas on offer, and you’re going crazy trying to distinguish one from another.
I can tell you this about myself: After 25+ years in the business, I can almost always discern within minutes, better than you yourself, what you really want in the way of a villa. I can almost always tell within moments of communicating with you those specific villas which will work for you, i.e., make you happy, and those which will not. So often, I have had clients call wanting a villa which I knew would be disastrous. If I did not succeed in guiding them in what I believed to be the right direction, I sent them on their way to a competitor. We will not have you rent a place we know to be wrong. We will tell you everything “wrong” with whatever properties you consider. I cannot tell you how many times a person has come to me wanting Tuscany, for example, and ending up on the Amalfi Coast or in Florence or Rome.
We are here to guide you. We listen carefully to you, but we won’t let you convince us to take a place we know won’t make you happy, no matter the financial gain we might earn. A few years ago, a repeat client phoned me wanting a particular house and right away declared, “Daniel, that’s the house we want, and we don’t want you to tell us everything that’s wrong with it.” I respected their wishes, but only after I satisfied myself fully that the house was right for them. Otherwise, I would have ignored their request and insisted on telling the full truth.
One thing you won’t find on this website is the word “luxury”. It’s not that many of our villas don’t fit into the “luxury” category. But in 25-plus years of doing business, we have learned that “luxury” is a very slippery term. What’s luxury to us may not be luxury to you. We have seen villas familiar to us, advertised as “luxury” on other sites that we wouldn’t describe in that manner in a million years.
How do Vacanza Bella’s Italian vacation rentals work?
It’s remarkably simple: Peruse the descriptions. If you see one or more places you like, send us an email, either directly or via the contact page. Or pick up the phone and call us. We are based in Europe, which allows us to keep close tabs on all our properties. But with time differences, it may mean that you get a voicemail recording if you phone. Do leave us a message with both your home and work phone numbers and also your email address, being sure to spell it out carefully. We will return your call or answer your email message promptly, almost always within 24 hours, often within a few minutes.
We like human contact. And while we have come to depend on email, we also like to speak by phone, especially when you’re close to making a decision on a particular property. We want to make absolutely certain that the Italian holiday home you’ve selected is right for you and your needs. Renting a villa in Italy is a tricky business. Each Italy vacation rental property is different, and each of you is different. We want to hear your voice and hear what it is you’re looking for. We don’t want you to stay in just any old place.
So peruse; ponder; make some tentative choices; and then send us an email or give us a call or complete the Contact page. Welook forward to communicating with you.
P.s. Oh, and by the way, here’s what Vacanza Bella is not:
We are not a travel agency. We do not rent cars. We do not do home exchanges. We do not arrange hotels. We do not plan trips. We do not do France, Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, or any other country. Having said all that, I will confess to you that I have had countless conversations with clients on precisely these topics. Just not as part of “the deal” – just out of the kindness of my heart.
